Rideau Hall Movie Nights to Include NFB Shorts

Big Drive is one of several NFB shorts playing at the Rideau Hall Movie Nights
The inaugural Rideau Hall Movie Nights will now include shorts! The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, in good old moviegoing fashion, announced today that a selection of short films from the National Film Board of Canada (NFB)  will precede the feature film screenings on August 17 and 19. The shorts are a range of contemporary films and Canadian classics.

The short films selected to appear on the evening of August 17 with the feature presentation of The Grand Seduction include Opening Speech: McLaren (Norman McLaren, 1961); Canada Vignettes: Log Driver’s Waltz (John Weldon, 1979); and Moon Man (Paul Morstad, 2004). The screening on August 19 includes Hen Hop (Norman McLaren, 1942); Big Drive (Anita Lebeau, 2011); and Flocons (Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre, 2014), which will precede the feature presentation of Louis Cyr: The Strongest Man in the World.

All of the Rideau Hall Movie Night screenings are free of charge and begin at sunset, although the public is free to arrive and roam the grounds any time after 7:00 pm.
